Somersworth Branch
The Somersworth Branch of the Western Division passed through two New Hampshire towns after breaking off from the main line; they were Rollinsford and Somersworth. Back in 1908 there were two train stops located along this line in New Hampshire, as can be seen on this section of timetable.
This branch line began as the Somersworth Branch and was built for the Boston & Maine Railroad. The route opened to traffic in July of 1843, connecting with the B&M main line at its southern end and the Portsmouth, Great Falls, & Conway Railroad at its northern end. The full length of this branch is still used today by New Hampshire Northcoast Railroad.
